Jeff Harman - Electrical Trainer and Assessor
Jeff is a special class electrician who trains on the electrical instrumentation and hazardous areas programs. He is a qualified electrical fitter mechanic and holds an Advanced Trade Certificate (Electrical/ Electronics) as well as relevant qualifications in electrical instrumentation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hazardous areas, HV Switching and work health and safety.
Jeff has an extensive background working in print, newspapers, major projects (maintaining process control systems for bulk water transfer and water treatment plants), and more recently as a service engineer for medical, scientific, diagnostic equipment and machinery.
Jeff is also qualified to assess overseas qualified electricians seeking recognition of their skills for migration or licensing purposes.
Steve Peters - Electrical Trainer and Assessor
Steve is a qualified electrician with a background in working in the newspaper and contracting industries, and prior to that as an electrician and soldier in the army.
He holds a number of qualifications including in training and assessment, hazardous areas, and industrial electronics.
Steve brings a wealth of industry experience to the role of a trainer with an extensive background in maintaining, repairing, fault finding and troubleshooting of processing equipment, PLC's, AC and DC variable speed motor controls, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation and Control systems.
Chris Bingham - Electrical Trainer and Assessor
Chris' varied background is in domestic electrical contracting, Telecom Australia contractor, heavy industry-Underground coal mining.
Chris is passionate about passing on his extensive experience to the next generation of electricians. Beginning his trade within the coal mining sector in mid-west NSW in the mid 1980's he moved east to Wollongong to complete his apprenticeship when the 87' recession closed the underground mine in the Blue Mountains.
Since completing his apprenticeship he has gained his Electrical Contracting lic in both NSW and Qld, ACMA Open cablers with Optical Fibre, Structured Cabling, and Coax endorsements, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, MCSE, Cert IV Small Business Management, & Hazardous areas.
By the mid 2005 he moved into the training sector as an electrical trainer for TAFE Qld, and then onto an industry skills council organisation, Energy Skills Qld. It was here he built the RPL toolkit for Skills First Qld to formalise a pathway for the overseas electrician to be recognised within Australia. TAFE Qld still run the flexible delivery program he helped build during his time at TAFE Qld.
Margot Hoyte - Work Health and Safety
Margot is a Work Health and Safety Trainer and Assessor with an extensive background in Health and Safety policy development and implementation. She has developed and delivered training, including Work Health and Safety training, in both the private and public sectors. Margot's diverse work experience includes tourism, hospitality, health and community services as well as the successful operation of her own training development and delivery business. She holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. Margot has recently returned to Brisbane, the city she grew up in, and is enjoying the weather, lifestyle and people.
